Summer of STEM - Trenton Library
July - August 2023
We conducted various STEM activities in the Trenton Free Public Library including 3D modeling, building a solar-powered oven, constructing an earthquake proof tower, and more!
Science Fair Event
We hosted a station inTimberlane Middle School's Science Fair.
We conducted STEM activities with the kids including using a microscope, creating bouncy balls, engineering a helicopter, and more!
Trenton Free Public Library: Engineering Event
During this in-person event, students participated in activities relating to space exploration and robotics!
Students came up with their own rover designs and made helicopters!

Hackathon
January 27, 2022
Students were challenged with coding an interactive game on Scratch in under 90 minutes!
4 winners were chosen to receive a STEM kit as a prize.
Guest speaker
1/10/22
On January 10th, Katie Goodwin joined us for our guest speaker event!
Ms. Goodwin talked to the students about her job at Princeton University's Tissue Morphodynamics Lab and her love for biology. She participated in a Q&A session with the students and even gave them a virtual tour around the lab!
2021 Holiday SciencE Lab Event
Students performed a lab where they grew crystal candy canes and learning about solvents, solutes, and saturated solutions!

Professional surgeon guest speaker

On February 7th, Dr. Jordan joined us for our medical science guest speaker event!
Dr. Jordan went to medical school at Cornell and did his surgical residency at Columbia. He currently works at Penn Medicine and he is the Chief of General Surgery there! He practices abdominal surgery using open, laparoscopic, and robotic techniques. He is also involved in teaching medical students and surgery residents from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick!
Dr. Jordan did a medical seminar with the students in Inspire Curiosity. He taught about COVID-19, vaccines, his job, and medicine in general. Dr. Jordan also participated in a Q&A discussion with the students after the end of the presentation.
