New Jersey
Chapter Heads

Adhwita Gopi Selvan
Adhwita is a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School in NJ and is pursuing the Computer Science STEM Pathway and Capstone Course. She is taking AP Computer Science, CSC 101 & Entrepreneurship at a local college, AP Research (where she does research on education inequalities), Calculus, and AP Physics. In school, Adhwita is the co-president of Model WHO (World Health Organization), a club that is dedicated to global leadership, community, alleviating poverty, and improving education. She is also the vice president of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and co-president of Science Olympiad, where she has won awards in competitions. Outside of school, Adhwita has worked in a coding center for the past two years. She private tutors kids in Javascript, Python, and app development. She can program in JavaScript, Python, C++, and Java. She is currently working on app development and STEM education research with local professors and researchers. Other than her STEM activities, Adhwita loves to dance. She has been a dancer for the past 11 years. Her dance projects have been featured internationally and is currently working on a project with UNESCO.

Raelynn Cui
Raelynn is a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School in NJ. She is currently taking AP Chemistry and AP Statistics and has previously taken AP Physics, AP Biology, and AP Calculus. In school, Raelynn is co-president of Science Olympiad and media manager of the Model WHO (World Health Organization) club. She is also a member of Hopewell Valley's NHS (National Honor Society) chapter. Last summer, Raelynn interned at Princeton University's Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. She studied the morphogenesis of embryonic chicken lungs and performed research on culturing these lungs ex ovo. During the summer of 2021, Raelynn was a summer intern at the office of a New Jersey state senate. She created reports on climate change, education, and food waste legislation. She also studied cancer immunotherapy under two professors who were beginning a study on synthetic lethality. In her free time, Raelynn loves painting and playing tennis. She has been taking visual art classes for 12 years and plays on the varsity tennis team for Hopewell Valley.

Janya Samanthika Arunkumar
Janya Samanthika Arunkumar is currently a junior in high school. Her STEM classes in school this year are AP Chemistry and AP Physics, and she has taken AP Calculus BC and AP Statistics as a sophomore. Her favorite area in STEM is science, specifically, biology. Janya is the vice president of the HOSA club and has won 6th place regionally as a sophomore. She is also the founder and president of the Operation Smile club at her school. She has taught Human Anatomy and Physiology to young children. She is also on track to be part of the EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). Other than STEM activities, Janya loves to read, sing, play the piano, and dance. She has been part of the choir since 4th grade and has been in advanced ensembles.

Arya Sekkappan
Arya is a junior at Hopewell Valley Central High School in New Jersey. Her current STEM-based classes in her high school include Introduction to Engineering Design, AP Calculus, AP Physics, and AP Chemistry. The most interesting STEM topics to her are science and math. Arya is a member of the HOSA clubs for 2 years, the Editor/webmaster for Key Club, and is a representative for the Model WHO club at her high school. In her free time, Arya loves to spend time outside, play tennis, and hang out with friends and family.

Nandita Ramesh
Nandita is currently a junior at Hopkinton High School in MA. She has taken AP Biology and AP Computer Science Principles her sophomore year and is taking AP Chemistry, AP Calculus AB, and Anatomy in her junior year. In school, Nandita is the co-president of the Neuroscience Club and a member of HOSA, in which she has won awards in competitions. Outside of school, Nandita has taught languages to young kids through volunteering. She has been playing piano for the last nine years and is a gymnast.

Prisha Shrivastava
Prisha Shrivastava is a junior in Hopkinton High School in MA. Her past STEM classes in school include AP Biology and AP Computer Science. In school, Prisha is a member of the STEM Club, the vice president of the Neuroscience Club, and has been a member of HOSA (Future Health Professionals) for two years, in which she qualified for the international conference in 2021. She also tutors students in Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1. In her free time, Prisha loves to write fiction novels, play the piano, play soccer, and go on runs.

Mahisvi Vemulapalli
Mahisvi Vemulapalli is currently a sophomore at Hopewell Valley Central High School in New Jersey. She is currently taking AP Calculus AB and plans on further diving into the areas of STEM. In school, she is part of the robotics team and the high school marching band. She also participates in clubs such as FBLA, HOSA, CHATS, Model WHO, Science Olympiad, and a lead in her school Red Cross chapter. Outside of school, Mahisvi enjoys spending time with her family and friends, She bakes and likes playing tennis. She also plays the saxophone and enjoys reading mystery books.

Tanisha Angoth
Tanisha Angoth is currently a junior at duPont Manual High School in Kentucky. Her current STEM-based classes in school this year are AP Biology, AP Environmental Science, AP Psychology, and AP Calculus AB. She has taken AP Computer Science Principles in her sophomore year. She has also taken Project Lead the Way’s Principles of Biomedical Science course, Human Body Systems course, and Medical Interventions course. The most interesting STEM topic to her is biology. Tanisha is a member of her school’s HOSA club, TedX club, and Science National Honor Society chapter. In her freshman year, she was the co-leader of Girls Who Code at her previous school. She is on her way to becoming an obstetrician-gynecologist (OB-GYN). Outside of school, Tanisha loves to dance and has been doing so for the past 9 years. She enjoys writing, dancing, recording videos for her YouTube channel, and hanging out with friends.

Dheekshanya Senthamilselvan
Dheekshanya Senthamilselvan is currently a senior at Radnor High School in Pennsylvania. She will be taking AP Computer Science this school year. Her favorite areas in STEM are in AI and robotics. In school, she is a part of the robotics, art club, and National Honors Society. She also does peer tutoring for the youth within her community. Outside of school, she likes to write, take photos, play badminton, and play chess. She is also a fan of playing the keyboard and guitar.
Ontario

Khushvir Brar
Khushvir is a junior in high school. She engages in a number of clubs, such as SWIS (Strong Women in Science), social justice, and debate. Her favourite subjects include biology and chemistry. Since her first year of high school, Khushvir has competed in the HOSA (Future Health Professionals) competition, in which she took first place provinically in Clinical Nursing. She participated in the international conference in 2021 as well. She volunteers in a number of peer tutoring initiatives and also provides private tutoring to young children. Outside of school, Khushvir enjoys reading, swimming, hiking, and spending time with her loved ones.

Nina Kannan
Nina is currently a junior at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas. This year, she is studying AP Calculus BC, physics, electronics and robotics, as well as studying for AP Statistics. In her sophomore year, Nina studied AP Computer Science and AP Computer Science Principles. Nina is a founder and co-president of her school’s Hack Club, a computer science and programming club that hosts workshops for various projects. She also has taught children basics in Scratch and Javascript programming, and also introduced children to engineering and design concepts. Outside of STEM, Nina loves to read, and bake sweet treats for her friends and family. She also enjoys participating in Haiti Club, where she helps raise funds and create opportunities for a school in Haiti.
