OUR CLASSES
To provide students with a diverse range of STEM experiences, we rotate through many different class topics throughout the month. All of our lessons are taught in an interactive and engaging style in which students are encouraged to act as critical thinkers and problem solvers.
Hover over each box below to learn more about the different types of classes.

Students explore scientific concepts and phenomena.
Classes will cover both foundational areas of science (biology, chemistry, etc.) and unique areas (space exploration, medical science, forensics, etc.)!
Students will learn to ask questions about the world around them as they delve into the plethora of scientific processes in their everyday lives. Students do this by engaging in virtual activities or experiments after a scientific presentation.
SCIENCE CONCEPTS

ENGINEERING
Students participate in engineering challenges, in which a prompt is given and students engineer a solution.
Students learn about the engineering design process and will get a taste of what being an engineer is like as they go through the steps of brainstorming, designing, and testing.
Students learn how to build their own websites.
Students have the opportunity to use Wix, SquareSpace, Google Sites, and Weebly to customize and create their own websites.

WEBSITE BUILDING

Students learn how to code.
Students with no prior experience to coding learn how to use Scratch and experiment with block code as they create games, animations, and many more. More advanced students learn how to use Python or other programming languages.
CODING

Students learn how to edit and make their own videos.
Students learn how to navigate iMovie or WeVideo to film and edit their own videos.
Students also learn various film techniques and important concepts in film making (like greenscreen, contrast, stop motion, and more)!
VIDEO MAKING & FILM

Students become familiar with the basics of virtual 3-D modeling and learn what Computer-Aided Design is.
Students will use various CAD platforms like Tinkercad and Smart Draw to work on different STEM-related projects! CAD is an area that intersects with many of our other classes, such as engineering.
COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN

Students become more comfortable with various platforms online and learn about the importance of technology. Students also learn about various innovations and inventions!
In these classes, students have participated in various activities relating to robotics, space exploration & tech, cybersecurity, databases, cryptology, and more!
INTRO TO TECHNOLOGY

This class is meant to help out students in grades 3-6 who are falling behind in subjects like math or science at school.
We understand that many kids are struggling with learning in school and completing homework (especially because of the pandemic), so we want to help out! Please don't hesitate to reach out if your kid needs more individualized support in a certain area in STEM. We would be more than happy to offer private one-on-one tutoring.
TUTORING AND HOMEWORK HELP

STUDENT SATURDAYS
Student Saturdays take place every week and are more open-ended classes that provide students with opportunities outside of our traditional class structure.
Events on these Saturdays may include:
-
Homework help, in which students can come in with questions regarding STEM-related homework
-
Guest speakers
-
Science labs
-
Hackathons
-
A lesson that a student can choose the topic of and help teach with a teacher of their choosing!
